2003-2004 Calendar

October 11th, 2003, 10:00 a.m. The Regional Arts Commission has moved into its new facility featuring the Cultural Resource Center. Come visit their new home and hear music of the Equinox Chamber Players at the official Regional Arts Commission Open House Event. The Regional Arts Commission is located at 6128 Delmar Blvd., one block East of Skinker in the University City Loop. Parking available at the nearby Pageant or Delmar Station across the street. Admission free. Open to the public.

MIGRATIONS
Composer John Lampkin will be in St. Louis November 28th through December 1st for the premiere of his new work entitled Migrations. Lampkin's wonderful new creation explores a variety of migratory patterns of animals. Surrounding the premiere, Lampkin and Equinox Chamber Players will perform educational workshop performances open to the public.

November 29th, 2003, 2:00 p.m. The Equinox Chamber Players perform at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, located at 3750 Washington Boulevard, one block west of Grand and east of Vandeventer. Come hear the Mid-West premiere of Jennifer Shaffer's delightful Five Frogs, Katherine Murdoch's Postcards from the Center and a sneak-preview of Lampkin's newly written Migrations! Composer-in residence John Lampkin will join us to discuss his work. Admission is free to the concert.

November 30th, 2003, 2:30 p.m. The Shepley Program of Music and Art presents the Equinox Chamber Players at Christ Church Cathedral, 12th and Locust. Performance includes Katherine Murdoch’s Postcards from the Center, Jennifer Shaffer’s Five Frogs, and the WORLD PREMIERE of Migrations, by John Lampkin, commissioned by the Equinox Chamber Players. December 14th, 2003, 4:00 p.m. First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood invites you to the Christmas Concert with the Chancel choir of First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood and the Equinox Chamber Players. Two WORLD PREMIERES: Four Ancient English Carols, by Franklin Perkins for harpsichord and woodwind quintet, and Ha Shem, a choral suite on the 0 Antiphons, by Marcos Krieger, for woodwind quintet and Choir. 100 East Adams Ave, Kirkwood, MO. February 6th, 2004, 8:45 a.m. New City School presents the Equinox Chamber Players in concert.

February 22nd, 2004, 4:00 p.m. The Equinox Chamber Players perform four American premieres at Webster University in the Winifred Moore Auditorium. Music composed by faculty members Kim Portnoy, Robert Chamberlin, Joe Neske, Gay Holmes Spears, Kendall Stallings and Carl Pandolfi. Location: Webster University Winifred Moore Auditorium (Webster University Campus on Lockwood, across Eden Seminary). Admission Free for Webster University Students and faculty. General public : $5.00

February 29th, 2004, 1:30 p.m. Target presents the Equinox Chamber Players in a performance of Cat in the Hat in celebration of Read Across America, a National Education Association annual program. Come for a fun-filled afternoon of activities, planned for all Target, Mervyn's and Marshall Field's stores across the country on February 29th from 1-3 p.m. Read Across America takes place each year on March 2nd, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss whose 100th birthday is also this year. On March 2nd, Target Corporation team members will visit local schools to help teachers with classroom reading activities. April 16th, 2004, 7:30 p.m. Arden and Harry Fishers Young Composers Competition Concert presents the Equinox Chamber Players premiering the award-winning Quintet for Woodwinds, by Daniel Godsil. Mr. Godsil took first place in the Level 2 division (17-21 yrs old). The program will also feature the premieres of three other winners; Benjamin Hart, Andy Oster and Michael Dunsmoor. E. April 22nd, 2004, Tune into THE EARTH SINGS, an Earth Day special to be aired on about 150 PBS radio stations nationwide. Along with chimps, ants, and insects, it will also include an excerpt from Phillip Bimstein's "Half Moon at Checkerboard Mesa" performed by Equinox member Carole Lemire on French horn.
